    Default my 04 sti rebuild

Well i have been a member for a while now and still spend 90 percent of my time on here just creeping around and posting every now and then... haha. I have seen a lot of you guys around and talked to quite a few and just figured i would go a head an post my rebuild thread on here... I put one on KYSC but never got around to putting it up here.

I bought my car off of copart, through a family friend who owns a body shop. I got it for a pretty good deal especially with it having less than 55k miles on it. My intention was to pull the motor, trans, diff and hubs and put it in my bugeye, but when we got it to the house and started to really take a good look at it we decided to go ahead a fix it. It was a big relief when we set a battery in it and it fired right up. So i bought all the parts an me and my dad put it back together and painted it in our garage.

here is what it looked like when we first got it.

we ended up having to put it on a frame machine and pull the door post and tweek the front end a little bit... I had to order a hood, hood scoop, fender, bumper and grill form subaru. I also bought two drivers side doors from a junk yard (that still needed work) and a set of 04 sit headlight from a guy on ebay (not cheep at all... the most expensive parts actually)

    and the work began

    body work almost finished.

we ended up redoing this before paint because we just were not satisfied with the gap^

I put some stripes on a car in photoshop just to get an idea of what it might look like (dont hate i hadn't had a PS class at that time)

Here is a picture of the day that we pulled it out of our paint booth.

and almost a year later i decided to wet sand a buff it.

and here are some of the most recent pictures of it.

I know that a lot of people don't like stripes or whatever but i tried to make my car different but still nice and not cheep looking. Obviously there are tons of thing that i would like to do to it but I am satisfied with the way that it has turned out and love driving it.

Considering what this car has been through it's turned out great! Looks like you've been wearing out that new DSLR too!

Also, your car really makes me want a pro-tune, that thing was super quick with 3 people in it.
If you find yourself justifying your decisions to "haters", you're probably making stupid decisions.

Thats some amazing work you done. There is no way i would have been able to make myself do that. I would have much rather done the swap into another roller. Car turned out great, and Im sure youre enjoying it now.

thanks guys, yea i love it. plus no car payment...haha
I wish that i could afford to make it faster but for a stage 2 sti it does pretty good and i really dont want to compromise the driveability. Eric, i welded that endlink back and im going to keep it like that for a while but i have plans to make a set of replica kartboys... i have everything i need but time..haha. also looking at making some fully adjustable control arms... it will probably spring break before i can do it though.

here are a couple more pics
    frame machine... haha

Saw/heard you get it up red mile today around 430! Sounds good.

Nice work on the resurrection. Car looks and sounds good . The stripes definitely set the car apart and look really nice, dont let anyone tell you otherwise

Stripes are awful. Otherwise it's pretty cool. I see it around a ton.
