    Default new rimz y0 v.2

Some may remember I made a jank ass set of rimzos look nice a while ago. This was the awesome thread they were documented in:
    http://www.drivelex.com/showthread.php?9559-new-rimz-y0

A new year means new rimz. I bought these for a steal sometime in January. They are BBS RS 211. 16x8 et11 5x120.

Here they were when I picked them up and sprayed them off:

They had Pirelli snow tires on them that needed to go. A couple of the lips were in pretty bad shape and I couldn't run that size wheel with that offset in the front of my car anyways.

So began the modifying stage. My favorite part about BBS RS's is the versatility and number of options you have when maximizing your rimz. I tracked down another set of RS's that I bought just for the 1.5 in slant style lips. I got rid of the two bad 2 inch slant lips.

Staggered slant lips are pretty rare. BBS never made a set of RS's with staggered slants. I know none of you give any fucks about this but that's why I'm telling you. You're reading this anyways dumbasses.

I have no like "in-between stage pics" really. Faces came back yesterday from fill and redrill. Needless to say I'm not 100% satisfied so they're going back to get fixed up a little more before I run them.

Fill and redrill from 5x120 to 4x100 using tuner lug holes (smaller) due to the large BMW center bore. The top of the redrill was done very well but the mounting surface needs a little more welding.

I had both of the 2 inch slant lips soda blasted to get rid of oxidation. The left lip is bare blasted aluminum and the right lip has been sanded up to 800 grit wet sand.

Better pic of the lip so far. I have nothing above 800 grit on me so I'll have to pick up 1000-2500 sometime soon.

Mock up with a rare BBS Bugatti center cap (unfortunately I only have one of those caps.

Most likely using these logo caps. New chrome caps from BlackForestIndustries. Don't order from them, they suck.

Overview pic of the faces (under the foam) and barrels that came with the wheels. I don't think I'll redo the barrels. They're in good shape and it's not like you can see them anyways.

Sorry no pics of the 1.5 inch slant lips or other goodies I have for these right now but I will be taking more pics now that I made this thread. Also taking votes/opinions on what color I should do the centers in. They will be sandblasted and most likely powdercoated soon.

Lastly, this is the only forum I've posted this on. I know absolutely no one on DriveLex cares so I can't wait for all the awesome criticism. I love you all. Except Mike, but no one likes him.

    Final specs will be:

    16x7.5 (1.5 inch slant lip) et14
    16x8 (2 inch slant lip) et11

Both will be using 205/40 Falken 512 tires to have a nice stretch.

I'm a bit burnt out on RSs personally, but I'm sure you'll come up with something to stay fresh.

    I really like these.

great, so you bought basically the exact same wheels but with a minor difference. Might as well paint them the same. Not like they looked bad to begin with. Either way, spend that money son.

Got bored earlier and attached a lip to the face using 6 bolts and bolted it up to the car to see where it would sit. This is the wheel with the 2 inch lip so it is in the rear.

Sits great. 205/40 Falken 512 will look perfect on the 8.

Here is the same tire on wheel the same width for stretch reference:

This is why the faces are being sent back. Some amateur did them and didn't weld up all of the pockets on the back. They only welded up 3 out of 5 on each wheel because 2 didn't interfere with the redrill. It's sketchy to me so they're welding up the remaining 2 pockets on each wheels and cleaning up all the welds and making it look purty.
